“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”

Travel Advisor Assistant

Jayne Withers

Originally from Lancashire, England, Jayne began traveling seriously as a student of Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University. Before she graduated, she spent summers working in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca, attended Arabic language courses in Cairo, and lived in the Sudan for a year, teaching English.

After graduating, Jayne worked for a company that published in-cabin magazines for cruise lines operating in the Caribbean. When the London office closed, she was transferred to St. Martin and eventually to Miami. During this time, Jayne traveled extensively in Europe and the Caribbean. She eventually became associate publisher of Caribbean Travel & Life magazine, and the publisher of American Eagle’s inflight magazine, Latitudes. She returned to St. Martin for another three years from where she was responsible for sales and marketing in most of the eastern and southern Caribbean.

On leaving publishing, Jayne trained in Pilates and holistic nutrition before establishing herself as a travel wellness consultant. She worked extensively with companies that have mobile work forces to keep them healthy on the road. Presenting at NASA was one of the most exciting highlights of that pre-COVID time.

Jayne is the author of Mile High & Healthy: The Frequent Traveler’s Roadmap to Eating, Exercise, Energy and a Balanced Life (Story Farm, November 2015), hailed by Forbes.com as “A breakthrough book (…) taking the reader on a variety of journeys discussing everything from the physiological impacts of travel to detailed analysis of how travelers can wrest control of the chaos that constitutes today’s business trip.“.

Together with her chef husband, Jayne likes to see the world food first, and is always eager to try new cuisines. She has led wellness and culinary retreats in Italy and the Caribbean, and looks forward to becoming a wellness travel specialist one day.

When she isn’t thinking about traveling, Jayne teaches dining etiquette to children and adults; business etiquette to aspiring college graduates; and afternoon tea classes to all ages. Her Companion Guide to Afternoon Tea is slated for publication by the end of 2023.
